Quinn and I talked Thursday about how to move forward.
The Bylaws of the Homeowners Association allows for the Board to appoint someone to fill in the vacancy. However, since Tracy was elected at the first annual meeting, we are coordinating with CAM to send out a letter announcing the vacancy and ask for nominees. We are going to do this via US Mail as not everyone in the neighborhood is on Facebook. After collecting nominations for a month, if more than one person is nominated, we will send out ballots and collect them for a month.
To date, one person has contacted us saying they are interested.
In the meanwhile, if anyone has questions, suggestions, comments, please feel free to contact me through FB or through the form under Who to Contact on TheBrooksColumbia.com web site.

Effective immediately, I have stepped down from my position on the Board of Directors for The Brooks Homes Association.
I am incredibly proud of what I accomplished during my tenure, and I want to thank all of you for the opportunity to serve our wonderful community. While I am leaving the board, I look forward to continuing to connect with all of you simply as your neighbor.
Moving forward, please direct all HOA questions, maintenance requests, and general inquiries directly to the management company or the remaining board members through the official communication channels.
Thank you for your support, and I wish our community the very best.

To qualify for Neighborhood Watch signs posted in The Brooks, we have to have a perentage of residents attend training. We hope you'll consider attending!
Columbia Neighborhood Watch is offering free, one-hour training to become a Neighborhood Watch member at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 4, at the Molly Thomas Bowden Neighborhood Policing Center, 1204 International Drive, Columbia.
This is happening at the same time as the meeting for Hoylake Traffic Calming. It seems that they hold trainings like this about every 3-4 months.

Update: May 13, 2026
Plans have been approved and the landscaping company has been hired for construction of the Sagemoor Entrance. The entrance will match the other two entrances to The Brooks. Construction will be the summer of 2026. This is a cost incurred by the Developer, Quinn Bellmer. Once the construction is complete and the plantings are in place, the maintenance will be the responsibility of the development.
