Below is the text from a letter dated May 15, 2026 from Jacob Ray, P.E., Engineering Supervisor, City of Columbia Public Works.
To The Brooks Property Owners and Interested Parties,
Hoylake Drive has been identified by a traffic study as having vehicles operating at speeds higher than desirable. The City of Columbia Public Works department has schedule an informal open house meeting concerning traffic calming on Hoylake Drive.
The meeting will be held from 6-7 pm. Thursday, June 4, in room 1C of City Hall, 701 E. Broadway.
The purpose of this meeting is to review potential traffic calming solutions for Hoylake Drive as well as to:
Define and prioritize problems
Identify desired outcomes
Provide an overview of the Public Works Neighborhood Traffic Management Program
At the meeting, information and diagrams will be available for public review and City engineering staff will be present to answer questions. Public comments will be accepted at the meeting and can be left on the BeHeard webpage through June 19. Comments will be considered as the designs are developed.
